Student Advisor

Established in 2003, OnTESOL offers accredited online TESOL courses and job assistance services for people who want to teach English in Canada, abroad, or online. We are seeking a part-time Student Advisor position to begin June 15th, 2021.

The successful candidate will fulfill the following tasks and roles:

  • Daily communication with current and prospective students.
    Provide OnTESOL students and graduates with information on various teaching jobs.
  • Support OnTESOL graduates with cover letter and resume.
  • Update job boards
  • Maintain communication with language schools and recruitment organizations that offer job opportunities to OnTESOL graduates.
  • Support Marketing Coordinator and Student Services Manager with communication materials.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous customer service experience.
  • University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Communications.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Communications, Business
  • Administration, or Human Resources.
  • Internationally recognized TESOL / TEFL /TESL certificate preferred.
  • Previous experience teaching ESL preferred.

Skills Required

  • Strong digital literacy.
  • Solid knowledge of the TESOL/TEFL and ESL industry in Canada and abroad.
  • Must be a self-starter and have a strong ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Superb communication skills including, writing, speaking, and listening skills. 
  • Ability to work in a creative environment and bring new and innovative ideas to the table. 
  • Comfortable working remotely.
  • Comfortable providing customer service on the phone.
  • Confident, approachable, outgoing.

Benefits:

$18-$22/hour. Depending on previous experience in ESL, TESOL, or related industry.

20-25 hours/week.

Marketing Coordinator Position

This is a 1 year-contract, maternity leave position with the possibility of extending to 16 months.

The successful candidate will fulfill the following tasks and roles:

  • Coordinate content creation strategy for blogs, social media, and other communication channels.
  • Organize and present online info sessions and webinars.
  • Build and manage relationships with OnTESOL graduates, business-to-business partners, and industry experts to promote OnTESOL courses, improve job assistance services, and create valuable content.
  • Support Student Services Manager and General Manager with new Strategic Initiatives.
  • Attend several job fairs per year to connect with prospective students and offer them information about OnTESOL’s courses and job assistance program (Online Only in 2021 due to COVID)

Qualifications:

  • 4-year university degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
  • At least 2 years experience in communications, social media, sales, relationship management, and/or marketing.
  • Previous ESL teaching experience preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of the TESOL/TEFL and ESL industry in Canada and abroad

Skills and Experience Required:

  • At least 1-year experience with data analysis, digital marketing, and social media.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Superb communication skills including, writing, speaking, and listening skills. 
  • Previous experience with CRM software.
  • Previous experience developing client relationships.
  • Previous experience with producing short videos for websites, YouTube, Instagram, or other social media channels.
  • Previous experience and solid working knowledge of WordPress.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SEO preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter and have a strong ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Confident, approachable, outgoing.
  • Comfortable working remotely.
  • Self-motivated and highly creative brings new and innovative ideas to the table regularly.

Benefits Include:

  • $40,000- $50,000 depending on previous experience in ESL, TESOL, or related industry.
  • Paid vacation.
